After that, the Tremere try to get Anna. The struggle results in Vulture's capture of Hayes and Steele's and Migliazzo's capture of Anna. Jazz and Migliazzo fight eachother fiercely, but without hard feelings.<BR> When Shrapnel is informed by Jazz, Toriga's struggle against Hayes angers him. As such Vulture keeps his silence during his discussions with Hayes.<BR> Lillian, having achieved some independence, starts rebuilding what is left of her sire's empire. Despite her experience, she is tracked down by a blood starved ghoul of Astartes. Lillian helps the ghoul and starts looking for Malcolm, turning to Hayes and Vulture in the process.<BR> Astartes has a remarkable meeting during his imprisonment. Carmen and Willmore seem to be the only vampires that have something against the two. On their way to intercept the limousine heading for Manhattan, Walker teams up with Veluci and Vulture takes to the air. Stranding in "enemy" territory in Queens Walker nor Veluci turn out to be a match for Hammer. Vulture's interference gets him a patrol car and inspiration for a plan. Like Walker, Hayes is prepared to assists, but he leaves when the limousine turns out in Ventrue territory. Sneaking into a charmless hotel, the two Nosferatu meet the Ventrue fledgeling Lillian de Larochette, as well as the prince. Adrian's suggestion to introduce Aselah to the Roadhouse is not appreciated. When Jazz learns of the obscure fate of Shane and Jhema, Walker and the others turn on Hayes again. Only the intervention of Marx keep matters from getting out of hand. This does not turn out to be the case and Vulture decides to explore other ways to get into the party.<BR> Astartes, Jazz and Veluci arrive at the feast and are welcomed by Carmichael, who has invited naive mortals to feed from. When Sandra Sela arrives, Jazz and Malcolm are the first to greet and adore her. This proves to be a worthwile investment.<BR> Vulture meets with the prince and the princess in the car halls beneath the Tower. Jazz mourns her loss in loneliness. Astartes slowly recovers from his crippling wounds. When Ray and Giorgio discover a Sabbat fledgeling, Jazz and Malcolm help them capture him. They interrogate him before bringing him to the Tower. Pleased with the capture, Carmichael invites Jazz to the midwinter's night feast. The staked Sabbat is left in the care of Octane. They dusty old beauty permanently captures him.<BR> Through a subtle use of domination, Hayes gets Walker, who has secured Vespes' corpse, to destroy it. But within a week they are summoned to the Tower to face Willmore's charges of violating the tradition of destruction. Prince Ortega hears the accusers and princess Santiago hears the defense. In the end, neither the coterie, nor Nicolas Willmore are punished. She is received among the vampires and welcomed by the Lasombra Astartes.<BR> Their night is interrupted when Walker seems to have been attacked by the Assamite hunting him. Although he claims membership of the coterie, it does not seem inclined to help him. Rather, they choose to have a meeting with two vampires that have returned to the vampire society of New York, Veluci and Marx. The meeting is held at the Jersey side of the Washington bridge, where Walker demands the help of Veluci and Marx against the Assamite, before he welcomes them into the coterie. But the gathering is disturbed by strange mindgames and a powerful presence nearby. This powersource seems to be centered on the place David and Shanti Tulay once died, and manages to drive the kindred away.<BR> When the coterie returns to the Roadhouse, Vulture is there with information about the Assamite's hideout. He takes Becky to the prince, who interrogates her and makes her a neonate.<BR> A week later River discovers the beat up body of her domitrix and desperately calls all phonenumbers in Becky's book. Lengley, at a directorate meeting, does not respond, but Steele, Astartes and Willmore do. They enter her appartement and discover Becky's body, in torpor. At the same time Jazz encounters three unknown kindred in the basement. She barely escapes the combat and retreats. The three negro vampires go straight to Becky's appartment and almost defeat Steele, Astartes and Willmore. But they manage to murder River, though Willmore should have been there to protect her. The three attackers flee to the garage, where Shrapnel and Jazz are waiting for them. They destroy one, let one escape, and manage to stake the last. Eavesdropping on the conversation, Toriga appears out of nowhere to make Lengley an interesting offer after Siriz has left, an offer Lengley has no choice but to consider. As the council meeting opens Siriz has filled the Tower hall with a pile of dozens of staked Sabbat, filling the Elysium with the stench of rot. The council decides to keep Siriz as reeve and Octane as his deputy. Kindred of the city huddle together in the Tower. Early in the night, three Nosferatu, appearantly survivors from Long Island, arrive in the Elysium, Conrad, an elder, Shep, his childe, and Vega, a local neonate. They desperately beg the present Cainites for asylum and protection. Sandra Sela is against helping the Nosferatu, as is Carmichael. Only Kasha offers her help, immediately. But Conrad's claim not to be able to explain what seems to be killing the Nosferatu reduces the willingness of other vampires to help him. Suddenly Brian Collins changes his mind and tries to convince more undead to help them. Acting on orders of Siriz, White suddenly orders a complete evacuation of the Elysium. The Nosferatu stay behind, having nowhere else to go, as do Kasha, Jazz, Lengley, Collins and Hayes. Jazz is sent away by Kasha. Brian Collins suddenly leaves as well. Morhaime, already informed by Hayes, suddenly arrives to offer her help as well. She suggest that Lengley and Hayes leave in time. In the end the only ones that are going to face the unknown predator are the Nosferatu, Kasha and Morhaime.<BR> As distant witnesses, Lengley and Hayes can see how only Morhaime and Kasha survive the encounter. With their help and that of Jazz, both survivors recover.<BR> Collins has a brief word with Ortega in the Ventrue Hall and then turns to Carmen, who has summoned him away from the fight. He discovers the prince's hold over her and takes her to the anarchs, where he also meets White and his childe. Together with the friends of Eyelock and Hammer they set out to destroy the Elysium, while Collins calls in the help of the Tremere. The attack on the Tower goes wrong as they interupt Carmichael, Carre, and Siatep performing a ritual for the prince. But she escapes.<BR> Travis looses one of his artist to a collaboration between her and a insane anarch vampire, Bartholomew.<BR> Realizing he is to blame for the downfall of his clan in New York, Adrian Hayes misunderstands some good advice and confesses his horrible mistake to the regent of the New York chantry, Violet Morhaime. Sela claims to be severely hurt.<BR> The arrival of Siriz stabilizes the situation and he sends White and Marx to talk to the prince, concerning the violence they caused in the Elysium. Ortega, who meets them and Carmen in the hall of the Ventrue, decides to support his reeves all the way.<BR> Jamal, Lengley and Hayes design a plan to cripple the power of White as revenge for his attack on Hayes' company. To this end Hayes requests Sandra Sela's assistance to defend the Tremere powerbase in New York. Although Hayes leaves the Tremere influence very vulnerable to the Malkavians, it gives him time to direct his attention towards his plans for revenge. He lets Lengley in on a few anarch secrets.<BR> The reeve and his deputies visit the Tower for the first time. Besides doing some socializing they have a serious talk with the keeper. They demand one room in the Elysium to be reserved for them, as meeting place or office. After some convincing Carmichael is eager to oblige.<BR> The Hayes & Cienciala, Legal Associates building is destroyed in the night of the 29th and 30th of november. The prince questions Ray's loyalty to the Camarilla due to his sire's connection to the anarchs. But Ray convinces Ortega of his trustworthiness. As the prince and Ray discuss this, Sebastian finds Siriz and Octane in the Hades. Siriz has already recruited Octane as deputy reeve, but also welcomes the help of White and Marx.<BR> Sicilia Franchetti presents herself to the prince. She is obviously welcomed by the Ventrue, but only gains a marginal vote in her favour from the primogen council. She immediately announces her candidacy for the position of whip to the primogen table.<BR> Jazz is presented to prince, who rigorously questions her about her origin and about her knowledge of the traditions of the Camarilla. He almost gives her blood to the Tremere, if not for an intervention on the part of Sandra Sela. When the primogen council is given it's opportunity to advise the prince, they show a significant majority in favour of the Caitiff. The prince reluctantly accepts Jazz as neonate.<BR> After the presentations all vampires retreat with their clans to seperate rooms to discuss voting and politics. This introduces Juliette and Jazz to eachother, who are left behind being Caitiff. Their pleasant conversation helps to reduce the enmity between Jazz and Siriz.<BR> When the kindred return the silent voting starts, as Van Hagen, Lengley, Jamal and Vega hold short speeches to promote their candidacy for harpy. In the end 6 votes are in favour of Vega, 7 in favour of Jamal and 8 in favour of the two Ventrue.<BR> Siriz also makes a small speech, being a candidate for reeve, but is challenged by Hayes to have his deputies speech as well. They all say a few brief words. Of all undead 16 vote in favour of Siriz as reeve and 13 against.<BR> Finally the kindred vote on the expanded rights to procreate. The Brujah do not gain this right, as 16 vampires vote against them. The Setites only gain a marginal (but sufficient) majority with 15 votes. The Nosferatu achieve a large majority with 23 votes out of the 29. And both the Toreador and Malkavians gain a good 20 votes in their favour. In the end all clans but the Brujah, Tremere and Ventrue gain the right to create progeny at their own accord.<BR> Now all assembled go to the primogen room to witness the council debate over the three remaining harpy candidates, the reeve and the whip. Initially, the councillors agree to select at least one harpy if none survives a vote. This harpy is to be Jairo Jamal. Fortunately for the candidates all three procure a majority vote and are given the title of harpy.<BR> Franchetti then explains the primogen council how she intends to serve them as whip. Sandra Sela and Santos immediately reveal their reluctance to accept her, on the grounds that two other Ventrue already have been appointed harpy. Only a few votes prove to be in favour of Franchetti and she does not become whip.<BR> Finally Siriz' candidacy for reeve is discussed. Objections are made to an all Brujah team of law enforcers. Santiago makes a small speech defending Siriz and manages to gain enough votes for a tie. Ortega interpretes this result as inconclusive and still apoints Siriz as reeve, and White, Marx and Octane as deputies. He invites the protesting councillors to find better candidates, but for now entrusts Siriz with the safety of New York.<BR> As the primogen meeting comes to an end, the vampires continue their pleasant night in the main hall as they leave one by one for their daily rest. The opening of the Tower comes to an end. <HR> <H4>friday, december 1, 2000</H4> <H5>players: Suzanne Forrer, Marc Henstra, Jasper Ronner, Kamiel Ronner<BR> storytellers: Maarten Oosten<BR> World of Darkness time: june 21, 1995</H5> Octane and Lengley go to the Hades to speak in private. Enjoying the gothic underground of the Elysium, Octane proposes a risky deal to Lengley. Lengley is hesitant to refuse it, although he wants to.<BR> The prince terminates Six' candidacy for harpy, on the grounds that she is still a fledgeling. Infuriated, Siriz threatens the prince and demands he changes his mind. When Ortega ignores the angry Brujah, Siriz promptly declares himself candidate to become reeve of New York. The Vipers are concerned by this development. But White immediatly offers his aide to Siriz as deputy-reeve.<BR> Six goes for a dance with Jamal as she lightly discusses politics with him unders his serpentine stare. Siriz intervenes and throes Jamal to the balcony where he manages to land at the feet of the prince. They engage in pleasant conversation and Jamal reveals more of his knowledge than he should have.<BR> Their conversation is interrupted as four new vampires arrive at the festivities. The guests from Atlantic city are Donovan and Eliana, from the clan of the Rose, Juliette, protege of Donovan and Kalifa, the sire of Jairo Jamal.<BR> Eliana joins the Vipers and after being introduced properly to Jazz by Kasha, takes Jazz and Shrapnel to the Hades, where they play games with the kine and talk about past and current events.<BR> Donovan and Carmichael start a verbal duel as Kalifa and Jamal reminisce old times. Kalifa introduces himself to Ortega most inappropriately and proceeds to talk with his old friend and master Yun Nyerere. Nyerere gives Kalifa Aselah and has a few serious words with Jairo Jamal.<BR> Before the prince and the primogen retreat to the council chamber, Ortega leaves the festivities in the hands of Lengley. As the hosting duties are given to Nathan for the duration of the council meeting, the two Ventrue discuss some matters of importance and strategy. Before leaving, Ortega invites Lengley to a special meeting later in the year 1995.<BR> After the council meeting Ortega takes a seat with White and Natalie. He discusses some polemics and praises Natalie's development, explaining how her imprisonment was unfortunate but inevitable. The prince does manage to lighten the fledgeling's spirit to the point of White's gratitude. They discuss a secret deal of importance.
