As a vampire, Carmichael is young enough to be at home in the nights of the twentieth century, to enjoy its moral debasement, fashion peaks and new art. And he is old enough to give it all a timeless quality. Selecting his wardrobe, girls and art with the experience of more than a century, he radiates a twisted excellence that leaves kindred and kine in awe. Dressed in the latest and finest, walking with the tread of a puma, one, looking carefully, can see the predatory agression hidden behind his dark eyes. His fellow vampires know his fluid movements for what they are, the movements of a lightning-fast killer.
Carmichael is the most powerful Toreador in New York now, and he knows it. He seems to have a political "understanding" with the prince, and generously contributes to maintaining order and the status quo in the city. After the Sabbat crusade left a power vacuum in the city, Carmichael immediatly seized all control he could. With it he has been able to transform more and more of the city in his own image. An architect of note, the Tower in the heart of Manhattan is to be the crowning achievement of his work. What he will turn his attention to next is unclear, but he still has enemies in New York.
"But not beautiful enough..."
