My Research

Historians will call our time the Age of Information. We have access to greater knowledge at our fingertips than any other society in history. However, the tools for finding it are either in their adolescence or have not even been conceived. My research interests lie at the intersection between human computer interaction and information retrieval, education, and analysis. Current digital archives are frequently impossible to search through due to problems in interpretation of the raw data and the lack of intuitive interaction between humans and computers. My goal is for my research to lead to the improved education and communication of knowledge whether it is located in digital libraries, scientific journals, or the "Lifebits" of personal experiences.
