Biography
- I was born in Shanghai, China 1982 Dec 30. Although being raised up in a big family of medical doctors, I have no intension to follow the tradition. Bioinformatics seems to be a decent compromise between my own interests and my parents' expectation. Being believed to be one of the most frontline research field, Bioinformatics will eventually dominate the research of biology and Biochemical.

Research Areas
- Cell Tracking and Cellular Phenotypic Measurement in Tumor Cell Visualized by Time-lapse Microscope Video
-
By revealing the correlation between gene mutation and cellular
phenotype, a
more objective and accurate estimation of gene pathway can be formalized in
current cancer research. However, unlike more compact cell model such as red
blood cell, tumor cell is highly motile and highly
metastatic. It is posing a
great challenge to the robustness and efficiency of existing tracking
algorithms. Using cell tracking, working hour of post-experiment is reduced by
300% and accuracy of phenotype estimation is increased to 80%.

-
The success in cell tracking encourages
us to extend the research into cellular structure such as focal adhesion
(FA). By establishing the correlation between cellular phenotype and structural
phenotype, we may provide a new methodology of gene annotation and ontology
construction. Our current results show a positive feedback from experimental
siRNA screen data.
