Curriculum Vitae.

Current Projects & Activities

I am part of a PhD project named DALE.

With P. E. M. Taschner, H. J. Hoogeboom and W. A. Kosters we work on various large scale primer design issues in the Bioinformatics Support Group.

With T. Westen of the NFI we search for SNP's in the human genome for various applications.

Finished Projects & Activities

A project that focused on combining artificial intelligence with chess endgames titled Ideas regarding chess endgames.

A project that describes how to find small pieces of DNA with certain properties titled Primer design for MPLA experiments.

A non-reviewed paper (but submitted to the arXiv preprint archive) about automatic sequences titled Numeration-automatic sequences.

I finished my Master Thesis titled Unique factors in the human genome in April 2005. Click here for more information.

Together with H. J. Hoogeboom we have supervised the master thesis of K. van Vuurden concerning suffix trees and its applications in the human genome.

Education

Fall 2008: Assistant for the Seminar DNA String Algorithms.
Fall 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008: In the autumn semester I will be giving the exercise college of Fundamental Informatics 1. The courses will be in Dutch, as will the exercise college (although questions in english will be answered of course).
More information can be found here.

Spring 2007, 2008: In the spring semester Frank Takes and I will be giving the exercise college of Algorithmics. The courses as well as the exercise college will be in Dutch.
The assignments and further information can be found here.

Spring 2006: The course Artificial Intelligence was short on assistents, so a part of the reviewing of assignments was done by me.
