I am a PhD student at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS), an academic section in the Faculty of Science at Leiden University. I am working in the area of "Annotated Graph Mining" under supervision of Dr. Hendrik Blockeel. I am also the member of LIACS Data Mining Group. My domain of interest is analyzing Protein-Protein Interaction (PPI) Networks where each node in the graph is a protein and edges are interactions among the proteins. There are two types of annotation information for each protein in the PPI networks. 'Functional annotation' shows the biological functions of proteins in the PPI network and 'Cancer/Disease relatedness annotation' shows if one protein is involved in cancer/disease or not. We work on proposing a complete Knowledge Discovery framework to improve the annotation information of PPI networks.
