About me

For updated information please visit kallergia.com

My name is Amalia and I come from Greece and Computer Science. I left both for the charms of the Mediatechnology master program in Leiden University. I graduated from Media Technology in June 2006 with the project "Provocative Tactics in the Museum Territory", and I still have a soft spot for (story-telling in) museums, archives and collections. From 2007 till early 2008, I worked as a scientific programmer for the Imaging & BioInformatics group involved in the development of the CSIDx imaging database for the Cyttron project. In the meantime, I taught. Since March 2008, I am a PhD student for the same group and project.

Research Area

I will be investigating new interaction styles for scientific data with respect to bio-imaging databases. Currently, I am examining whether playful interfaces such as video games can be used to interact with/ explore semantic structures such as a networked collection.
