Research Meeting

Next Meeting: to be announced

Purpose

The research meeting aims at providing an organized forum for exchange, interaction, and learning about research at LIACS. PhD students should give a presentation there, right before their defense. Or, early on during their thesis work, to present their ideas and get feedback. Researchers, group leaders, professors are invited to give presentations about their research, their vision, and how it all fits together in the context of a research group and the whole institute. Also, guest speakers are welcome, and of course the "discovery" lectures of LIACS staff members can be given in this meeting.

Presentations ideally stick to a 20 min. plus 5 for discussions time frame. The meeting is expected to be also open-format, so we can have any of the following: Ad hoc presentations: 6 minutes about a topic that you would like to bring up. Maximum 4 slides. Discussions about important topics: Best practices, calls for research proposals, etc. Programming pearls presentations. Whatever else you think is important.
