Academic collaboration
LIACS, the computer science institute of Leiden University, cooperates on a regular basis with national and international companies. This page gives an overview of possibilities to cooperate with the university. If you have any questions please contact one of the contact persons involved.
Master projects/Internships
If you have an internship available on academic level you can announce this to the study coordinator Riet Derogee. Your message with your internship will be forwarded to the students.
Please note: Master projects need to be research-oriented.
Research cooperation
Would you like to cooperate with our institute in one of our research areas, please contact our scientific director: prof. dr. Joost Kok.
Cooperation is possible in different ways:
- Contract Research: You ask the university to solve a certain problem (cooperation on project-basis is possible with, for example, an Innovation Voucher).
- Sponsoring Ph.D. research. You can either define a subject together with the university, or sponsor a proposal of the university.
Financing can be achieved in different ways:- via a subsidy request at NWO, STW, or European Commission.
- direct from your company – or a consortium.
Course/Lecture by the university at your company
The university can provide tailor-made courses for your company or give lectures about a current topic within Computer Science or IT.
Some examples are:
- course Requirements Engineering
- course Software Architecture
Giving guest lectures at the university
It is possible to give guest lectures within a course in our education. If you are interested, please contact Riet Derogee. She can put you in contact with the lecturer of the course which fits your topic.
Alumni
Would you like to get in contact with alumni or almost graduated students, please contact Michel Chaudron.
A selection of alumni can be found at the LinkedIn group Informatica, and ICT in Business.
