Introduction

Student Assistants	Jonathan Neuteboom Bart Hijmans	Assistance will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 15.30-16.15h and on Tuesday from 14.00-15.30h, all in room 306. Outside these hours you can always send Jonathan or Bart an email if you need assistance or have any other question.

• The course is composed of a theoretical written exam and a practical assignment. Both parts will be graded seperately, where both grades should be greater or equal to 6. The final grade (6 EC) for this course is a weighted average, where the grade for the assignments counts double.
• The exam will take place on Monday Jan 16 2012, 10-13h, location to be determined; the retake will be on Wed Aug 1 2012, 10-13h, location to be determined.
• In case you have technical questions, contact the student assistants so they can help you as soon as possible.

Assignment

• The practical assignment is divided into four parts.
• For each part an introduction is organized. Participation highly recommended.
• Each part must be delivered before its deadline. In case of any delay, please contact us as soon as possible.
• All parts must be written in English.
• DEADLINES ARE STRICT!
• The grade for each part will be received during a short mandatory meeting with one of the teaching assistants.
  During this meeting the teaching assistant will ask questions about your submission for this part.
  NO MEETING OR NO SHOW-UP MEANS NO GRADE!

• Please submit your results (tar(.gz) or zip) to ca__at__liacs.nl (substitute @ for __at__).
• You can give the printed version of your work to one of the assistants at the designated assistance hours.
